Geelong is a vibrant and fun-filled city built on the shores of the north-facing Corio Bay. There’s something for everyone, with attractions and entertainment, a variety of places to eat, parks and gardens, plus a lively new waterfront and hire cars are a great way to explore the area.

Geelong is very versatile as a city: a vital industrial and economic town, an academic centre, an aquatic playground on Corio Bay, whose waters give fishing challenges to all anglers, a launching pad for forays along the Great Ocean Road and into the vineyards around Mt Anakie.

Reserve a hire car in Geelong which is a city appropriately honored of its heritage, credited so important by the National Trust that it has listed more than 200 buildings as deserving of preservation.

The horse racing, too, is a fundamental part of the city’s calendar, especially in the spring when the city plays a strong support hand to the spectacular Melbourne carnival with the Geelong Cup meeting.

So when planning a trip to Geelong think of us for your hire car.

Oakdene Vineyards Restaurant – Bring your hire car to a halt and enter this place, you’ll know you’re somewhere special. You may appreciate it for the fantasy, for the fascinating artworks found everywhere through this property, but you will definitely enjoy the food. Enjoy fine dining with a friendly atmosphere and helpful, knowledgeable staff. You will enjoy a gently stroll through the peaceful and romantic gardens as everywhere you look, there is some quirky artwork including the cellar door which is a house tipped on its side. They even have an old train station and a huge “Christmas tree” all lit up at night made from old rusty wheel barrows. Very cosy and welcoming, park your hire car and a function here would be awesome. A very proud chef makes exquisite food with very interesting ingredients that all come together to make all those at the table go silent but with looks of admiration of the food in front of them, very tasty and visually appealing. The wine list is not overwhelming with pages and pages to choose from just enough of a selection to cater for all tastes.

Parkers Steakhouse – Hidden away on a small sidestreet in Geelong, Parkers Steakhouse is a treat worth seeking out in your hire car. The steaks were melt-in-your-mouth perfect, salads nice with yummy dressing, potatoes huge & perfectly cooked with lots of butter and sour cream. Service was friendly and punctual, without being overbearing. The mushrooms with feta are very tasty, hot out of the oven and the feta is lightly brown; the mixture of saltiness offset by the earthiness of the big mushroom caps. Try their grilled Halloumi cheese that had a dip sauce made from capiscums and had a slightly sweet and sour taste. Also try their Parkers dessert coffee which had a mix of Baileys, Frangelico, Kahlua and Cream, and their 300 gram scotch fillet. Drive your hire car to this wonderful haven.
