Between October and March vast amounts of water are released from the two dams
to feed thirsty cotton crops and the downstream flows attract adventurers and
white water rafters. Inverell boasts a number of fine old buildings and none
is more impressive than the court house.
The fourth to grace the town, the present court was built in rendered brick between
1886 and 1889 and is set off by an imposing clock tower. Red cedar dominates
the interior. The court is complemented by the CBC Bank built directly across
the street at about the same time. Inverell offers a full choice of accommodation,
