The word ‘Milperra’ is an Aboriginal word for “a gathering of people”. After World War I, Milperra was the site of the Bankstown Soldier Settlement.

In 1984 it was the scene of the Milperra massacre when two bikie gangs held a shootout in a car park, resulting in seven deaths.

Milperra is a suburb in western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. The suburb has one university campus, namely the University of Western Sydney (Bankstown campus).
