Terms & Conditions for Spendless Car Hire

Unlimited Kilometres The rate quoted includes unlimited kilometres of use in The Greater Melbourne Area and Regional Surrounds. That is, between Warrnambool in the East, Bairnsdale in the West and Albury/Wodonga in the North. This covers most of Victoria and our main tourist attractions (approx 300km radius from Melbourne). The Used Small Auto category of vehicle, whilst including unlimited kilometres of use, is restricted to travel within the Melbourne Metropolitan Area (60 km Radius from Melbourne CBD). Free Collection & Return We are happy to collect our customers from either the Airport or their local accommodation. Our office is just 3 minutes from the Melbourne/Tullamarine Airport Terminal and conveniently located to most Hotels and Motels around the Tullamarine area. Please enter your flight numbers later in the booking process for an Airport pick up, or if you wish to be collected from your accommodation, please add the request in the comments section. 24 Breakdown Assistance Your peace of mind comes from knowing that we offer free 24 hour roadside assistance with RACV, no matter where you are. After Hour Rentals For flights arriving and departing from Melbourne Airport after hours, a meet and greet or after hours service can be arranged at an additional fee. (24hr drop-off is also available. Phone branch direct for details and options). This charge will automatically be added to this quote on the following pages if your pick up and drop off times are outside normal hours of operation. We are generally open 8am-6pm Mon – Friday and 9am-5pm Sat & Sun. Insurance & Collision Damage Waiver All Vehicles are insured, but subject to an excess or collision damage liability similar to your own personal insurance. We offer a range of packages to reduce the excess on vehicle insurance starting from a low $5 per day. This excess or collision damage waiver is completely optional for drivers over 25 years of age. For a minimal daily amount, you may wish to reduce the excess that would be payable in the unfortunate situation where the vehicle is damaged in an accident with another registered vehicle. Our vehicles carry a standard excess of $2500. An opportunity will be made available during the booking process to choose one of these reduction packages. If you are still undecided on whether you wish to reduce the excess, you may choose to select one of these options when you collect the vehicle. One of our reception staff will be happy to go through the options with you. Hirers are reminded that there is no cover unless the vehicle is driven on sealed maintained roads (No designated remote areas or 4WD access areas). Any single vehicle damage including overhead, underbody, interior, windscreen, tyre or mechanical, howsoever caused is always at the hirers risk. Currency All prices are displayed in Australian currency and include GST. Drivers Licences A full current Australian and overseas or international licences is required for hire purposes. Probationary or provisional licences cannot be accepted due to insurance requirements. Underage Drivers Our rates apply to drivers 25 years of age and older. For drivers under this age but over 21 years of age, you may still rent a vehicle however a compulsory surcharge will be applied and excess amounts are different from over 25 year old drivers. These are displayed in the ‘Optional Extras’ fields on the quote page and must be selected. Additional Driver(s) One additional driver can be included provided they are over 25 years of age and hold a full drivers licence. Further drivers can also be included at an additional $25 per driver. Security & Privacy We treat our customers information as highly confidential and all measures are taken to ensure that it remains safe and confidential. Fuel The vehicles are provided with certain amount of fuel. All we ask is that you return the car with approximately the same amount of fuel you started out with, otherwise a refuelling charge will need to be applied. Optional Extras Booster seats, Forward and reverse facing baby seats are available for an additional $3 per day or a maximum of $25 per rental. GPS Units and Strollers are also available at an additional modest charge. Street Directories & Maps Staff are always happy to help out with directions and travel information for Melbourne. A copy of a current Melbourne street directory comes with each vehicle. This also has Tollway location and Toll Pass purchase information together with relevant contact details. Payment Options When picking up your vehicle please have a current drivers licence and credit card with you. We require the cost of rental plus an credit card imprint for the excess amount. The hirer’s credit card must be able to authorise up to this amount. This imprint is held until the vehicle is returned and then given back to the card holder. We accept Visa, Mastercard and American Express. Please note that due to higher Merchant fees a 2.5% surcharge applies when using American Express cards. Visa Debit and Debit Mastercards are accepted but require a fully refundable Security bond upon collection. Cash payments can only be accepted by prior arrangement.
