Airport Facilities

Runways – Basically, there are two runways available in Dubbo Regional Airport. The primary runway, sometimes called 05/23 is around 1708 meters in length and width is about 45 meters. There are considerations to extend the runway to 2100 meters long. The runway handles all commercial air traffic, commuter and private air traffic. The secondary runway is also called 11/29 and is around 1067 meters in length and 18 meters wide and is a sealed pavement. Both runways are sealed and have pavement strength suitable for unrestricted operations by code 3C sized aircraft.

Navigational Aids (Navaids) – The Airport have two navigational aids, an On-port VHF Omni-Directional Range/Distance Measuring Equipment (VOR/DME) and an Off-airport Non-Directional Beacon (NDB), which is sited about 1 kilometre to the west of the 05 Runway threshold, beside the Mitchell Highway.
