Rental Vehicle Excess
The excess for your chosen vehicle is approximately AUD $3,350 – $5,200.
As owners of the car, the rental company has full insurance for your chosen rental vehicle. Basic cover is included in the rental quote however if the car is damaged, stolen or Third Party Loss occurs during your journey, you must pay up to the Rental Vehicle Excess amount listed in your rental agreement, providing you have adhered to the terms of your agreement.
Enterprise Australia refer to their excess as the Loss or Damage Liability (LDL). Windscreen, wheels and interior damage to the car, any damage to vehicle extras (including child seats, GPS & personal belongings) and roadside assistance (eg. towing, off-road time, locked keys or misfueling) are excluded from the capped LDL. Costs to repair or replace such items may be charged at the actual repair cost.
Further, where the vehicle is hired from a remote location and driven between sunset and sunrise outside a city province, and loss or damage is the result of a single vehicle accident, the renter will be liable for all losses incurred. Refer to Enterprise’s Terms & Conditions for full information.
Protection options to reduce or reimburse your rental vehicle excess are available including third party Rental Vehicle Excess insurance or excess reduction at the rental counter.
Credit Card Surcharge
0.80% (excluding GST) of the total transaction value will be charged by the provider.
The credit card fee is applicable to all rental charges (excluding the deposit bond) including any optional items purchased and damage liability charges.
Security Bonds (by way of pre-authorisation) is AUD $200.
In most cases, the rental location will require a deposit of AUD $200 at the commencement of the rental. However, if all of the local renter criteria below are met, the rental location will require a deposit amount of $1,000 AUD in addition to the rental charge.
Airport Location Requirements
If collecting from an airport the renter must satisfy at least one of the below requirements or the bond will be AUD $1,000.
- Is renting from an airport but not flying in, i.e. does not have a boarding pass
- Lives locally; within the greater metropolitan area of the city in which the airport is located
- Is a first time renter with Enterprise (in either Australia and New Zealand)
- Is not a Corporate Renter Security Bonds
Prestige & Luxury
For Prestige Fleet for classes Compact Special, Fullsize Elite, Premium, Luxury, Premium SUV, Special SUV, Premium Special and Luxury SUV the credit card deposit (by way of pre-authorisation) is AUD $1,000.

Credit and Debit Cards
A valid credit card or Visa or MasterCard debit card must be provided for all rentals. The credit card holder is listed as the hirer and must be present at the time of rental commencement.
Cash is not accepted for any payments or bond.
Union Pay Cards
Union Pay Cards are accepted if they have the Visa and MasterCard Union Pay logo present on the card.
Charges for options and coverage are to be settled at the commencement of the rental.
Driver and Licence Requirements
When you pick up the car, please have your Passport or national ID card, driving licence (unrestricted and in English) and acceptable credit or debit card/s present.
Drivers Licence & ID
Enterprise accept current Australian, International and overseas licences.
Overseas licences that are not easily identifiable as a drivers licence must be accompanied by an International Licence or English translation.
Valid drivers licence must be held for a minimum of 12 months. All drivers must have held their license for a minimum of one year.
Probationary Licence Holders
If any driver is on a probationary license there is an additional Probationary License Fee of AUD $28 (excluding GST) per day.
Minimum driver age of 21 years old. There is no maximum age.
Drivers aged between 21-24 are restricted to vehicles Mini, Economy, Compact, Compact SUV, Compact Commercial Van, Intermediate, Intermediate Pickup and Standard only.
Young Driver Surcharge
AUD $23.50 (excluding GST) per day applies to all Drivers aged between 21-24 years old.
Prestige Fleet Requirements
For classes Luxury, Premium SUV, Special SUV, Premium Special and Luxury SUV there is a minimum driver’s age of 30 years old.
Must provide two current forms of ID both confirming home address i.e. Phone bill and Rates bill, documents must have been issued within the last 2 months. A full license is required to drive any of the prestige fleet.
Note, local fees and charges may be added to the displayed prices by the rental company upon collection of your vehicle.
Additional driver/s can be added to the rental agreement at the time you collect your hire car at the rental counter.
The first additional driver is free. Each additional driver after that is charged at a flat fee per day of AUD 10.00 (excludes GST). Enterprise will include the hirer’s Spouse or a person living at the same home address as hirer at no additional charge (license address must be the same as hirers). Note, all drivers must be listed on the Rental Agreement and meet Enterprise’s licence requirements as noted above.

The vehicle is supplied with a full tank and must be returned with a full tank or additional fees will apply.
