Manly is located north-east of Sydney and in a hire car you can look at travelling around 17 km from the CBD. 4 Pines Brewing Company – If you’re tired and you’ve disregarded the idea of a pub session and a movie because of the travel between the two destinations? Then detour your hire car to 4 Pines. It is your venue if you just want a good drink and to chill out free from either aggression or stuffiness. Décor is simple and left to a minimum: banquettes right next to windows and tall tables and stools right in the middle of the room. A microbrewery vat behind glass and notes on fermentation decorate the back of the room. Every night at 4 Pines there’s a different meal deal: a pint plus a parma, curry, or rack ribs. The main menu fare is honest, chunky, and reasonably priced, with menu like beef pie, pork belly and fish of the day to soak up the brew. The 5 house specialties (Kolsch, Hefeweizen, Extra Special Bitter and Stout) are serve by pint and regular sizes, with their ABV, IBU score, nose and palate all described on a blackboard atop of and running the length of the bar.
Garfish – It is the third restaurant in the Garfish group from founders Mark Dickey and Mark Scanlan continuing their concept of serving excellent seafood. Enjoy the view from behind floor to ceiling windows and hide from howling winds, or with better weather soak up the sun in the al fresco stone and timber dining area. There is also a bar lounge to enjoy a pre-dinner drink while waiting for a table. In addition to the seasonal menu, each Garfish restaurant also has a blackboard menu that changes daily with the freshest produce that they can source. The blackboard usually features at least six species of fish that can be cooked to your liking and matched with your choice of garnish.
